How long does it take to get a court transcript in Ontario?

How much does a court transcript cost?
Transcripts are billed per page in standard court format — see Fee Structure above for current per-page rates by turnaround.
Who can order a transcript of a court proceeding?
Members of the public, legal counsel, paralegals, and court services can all request a transcript of a proceeding they were party to or otherwise entitled to obtain.
What's the difference between a transcript and the court recording?
The recording is the raw audio of the proceeding. A transcript is the certified, word-for-word written version of that recording, prepared by an Authorized Court Transcriptionist.
Do I need a lawyer to order a transcript?
No — members of the public can order directly. We're happy to help you confirm the file number and courthouse details you'll need.
Is this transcript accepted by the Court of Appeal for Ontario?
Yes — transcripts are prepared to the certification standard required for appeal and other court filings.
